Passion fruit, pineapple and ginger are about as tropical as flavors can get. Here in Hawaii we grow all three of these mouthwatering fruits in our backyard. Luckily, if you live where these fruits don’t grow (or you just don’t have the patience to wait), you can run to your grocery store to pick them up or order the juices directly online.

Our pure Passion Fruit Puree with the addition of pineapple juice and ginger make this recipe more refreshing than any lemonade I’ve ever tried. This perfect summer drink will not only quench your thirst but transport you to the tropical beach you wish you were on while drinking it. To make this thirst quencher, you have to complete just a few easy steps: make a ginger simple syrup and add it to your juices, stirring to combine. The ginger adds a refreshing sweetness to the tart juices. Like many of my drink recipes, this can be made ahead for parties and get-togethers where everyone will think they are drinking something straight from the islands.

Passion Pineapple Gingerade

Yields: 8 Cups
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes


  • 1 1/2 Cups Water
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Thinly Sliced Fresh Unpeeled Ginger
  • 3 Cups Unsweetened Pineapple Juice, chilled
  • 3 Cups Seltzer Water
  • 1 Cup Lilikoi Cocktail Mix


  1. In a medium sized saucepan, bring sugar, water and ginger to a boil. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Turn stove down to simmer and simmer mixture for 10 minutes, stir off and on.
  3. Remove pan from the heat and let mixture steam for 10 minutes.
  4. Strain the ginger simple syrup into a container discarding the ginger slices.
  5. Chill the ginger simple syrup.
  1. In a large pitcher, add pineapple juice, seltzer water and lilikoi cocktail mix.
  2. Add the chilled ginger simple syrup. Stir.
  3. Serve over ice.
