Passion Pineapple Gingerade

Passion Pineapple Gingerade Recipe with fresh pine apple and a passion fruit on the tray

Passion Pineapple Gingerade

Passion fruit, pineapple and ginger are about as tropical as flavors can get. Here in Hawaii we grow all three of these mouthwatering fruits in our backyard. Luckily, if you live where these fruits don’t grow (or you just don’t have the patience to wait), you can run to your grocery store to pick them up or order the juices directly online.

Passion Fruit Cocktail Mix by Rochelle at www.davinehawaii.com
Lilikoi (Passion Fruit) Cocktail Mix from Da Vine Foods in Hawaii.

Our Lilikoi Cocktail Mix with the addition of pineapple juice and ginger simple syrup make this recipe more refreshing than any lemonade I’ve ever tried. This perfect summer drink will not only quench your thirst but transport you to the tropical beach you wish you were on while drinking it. To make this thirst quencher, you have to complete just a few easy steps: make a ginger simple syrup and add it to your juices, stirring to combine. The ginger adds a refreshing sweetness to the tart juices. Like many of my drink recipes, this can be made ahead for parties and get-togethers where everyone will think they are drinking something straight from the islands.

One of the best things about this Passion Pineapple Gingerade is its versatility. You can serve it just as it is to the kids, add a bit of seltzer water for your non mixed drink friends, and make several amazing cocktails from it. So far, I’ve tried it with vodka as a martini, champagne for a mimosa, rum for a tropical mai tai type drink and all of them were fantastically refreshing!

For our last party I made a big batch of this and put it in a pineapple shaped dispenser. I put themed cups next to the dispenser along with a cooler of ice and some fresh fruit slices on a tray. I wrote a little note to the adults telling them where the different types of alcohol were at our bar (out of reach from the kiddos). The adults that wanted a little spike could add what suited their tastes and the kids could enjoy the self-serve aspect of pouring the liquid gold out themselves. Everyone was happy and loved their beverages.
