Passion Fruit Sugar Cookie Recipe

Passion Fruit Sugar Cookie Recipe

There’s nothing better than warm cookies right out of the oven along with a glass of fresh, ice-cold milk. They might just be the perfect afternoon snack or after dinner dessert. When you try this tropical twist on the classic sugar cookie you are sure to have a new family favorite!

This recipe is a quick and easy drop cookie; that means no rolling, cutting shapes, or fussing with decorating. You can just scoop the dough onto cookie sheets, bake, and enjoy! If you want to frost the cookies, I have a frosted sugar cookie recipe HERE.

Frosted Passion Fruit Sugar Cookie Recipe by Rochelle from Da Vine Foods

Can you believe we have a national sugar cookie day? Every year on July 9th it gives me the perfect reason to indulge in one of my favorite guilty pleasures (not that I really ever need a reason to enjoy cookies). Cookies just might be one of my favorite foods, and adding the passion fruit puree to the recipe really kicks it up a notch.

The first time I made this recipe I took it to a special event. It was a breakfast potluck (no shame!). They were gone before the bacon!!! When everyone realized they had passion fruit in them, their eyes lit up!

The cookies themselves have passion fruit (lilikoi) puree in them. If you want an even stronger passion fruit taste, you can frost them with our frosted passion fruit sugar cookie recipe. You may want to add a few drops of food coloring to the frosting to give it a fun passion fruit yellow color. It would make a nice contrast to the cookies.

So, which way do you like your sugar cookies; frosted and decorated or right out of the oven? I personally like them right out of the oven. No matter how you enjoy your cookies I hope you will give this passion fruit sugar cookies recipe a try. You never know when you’re going to find your next favorite food!
